With Covid still among us we all have to make changes to how we prepare for Christmas this year.
Many shops are extending their opening hours in the run-up to Christmas.
Please check their hours and try to do your shopping when they’re less busy. Social distancing will be easier and queues will be shorter.
To keep safe when you’re doing your Christmas shopping:
- Go shopping on your own – most shops need to limit the number of people they can serve at a time
- Continue to wear face masks when moving between shops, queues and in busy places.
- Use the hand sanitisers provided at shop entrances and follow direction signs
- Consider shopping closer to home and at street markets – outside is safer than indoors.
Many local businesses – such as beauticians, hairdressers, theatres and wellbeing salons – offer gift vouchers that you can order online.
Or why not order online from local shops and businesses and use Click & Collect, or get them to deliver the gifts for you?
Please travel as safely as you can. Walk and cycle where possible.
Remember to wear your face mask on buses and trains (if you are able to) and follow the seating guidelines.
And why not treat yourself to a festive face covering that will support 12 local charities?
