Madeira Terrace's Victorian lift will not reopen this summer

The Madeira Terrace lift at Concorde 2 will not reopen for the summer season this year. A new survey has shown that the lift shaft needs major structural work and can no longer safely support the weight of the old lift.

New planning rule to protect our local shopping parades and commercial areas

A new planning policy for Brighton & Hove, aimed at preventing shopping and commercial areas across the city from disappearing, will come into force on 10 February 2023.
