Job introduction

Brighton & Hove City Council’s Housing Team is looking for an IT Training & Development Officer to join our busy Housing Systems programme team.

In July 2021 we implemented NEC Housing, our new Housing Management system.  We are now busy implementing Phase 2 of that project which includes new modules of the system e.g. Planned Maintenance, Private Sector Leasing, Mobile working, Emergency Placements, Customer Relationship Management, integrating Outlook and SMS.

We also have two further IT projects to implement, replacing our Works Management system and our Asset Management system.

Provisional interview date - Monday 20th June

For an informal discussion, please contact Mo Lawless, Housing Systems Programme Manager on 01273 295975.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced IT training officer to join our busy Housing Systems Programme team. You’ll be producing training plans, training guides, e-learning, and of course delivering training both virtually and face to face, for staff across the service using the NEC Housing system as well as preparing for the introduction of the new Works Management and Asset Management systems.  The role will support users to get the best experience of the new systems and ensure they are equipped to deliver their jobs to deliver an improved customer service.

Our new Housing Management System, NEC Housing was launched in July 2021.  We will be introducing a replacement Works Management system in November 2023 and a replacement Asset Management system in March 2024.  We need your energy and enthusiasm to ensure our staff feel confident and competent in the new systems so they can help deliver an improved quality customer service to our tenants and leaseholders.

The post supports hybrid working and currently the team are predominantly working from home. However, you will be required to deliver face to face training on occasion, mainly at the Housing Centre, but could be across other locations in Brighton & Hove.

Please read our Apply for a job at the council (brighton-hove.gov.uk) pages carefully. They give you all the guidance you need to complete your application as well as information on what will happen after you’ve submitted your application and at interview.

As part of your application, you will need to complete your education and work history and upload a supporting statement.
