Changes to Bereavement Service due to Covid-19

Although there are no legal limits on the number of people who can attend funerals or commemorative events, those attending and arranging such events should consider that it may be harder to manage the risk of spreading COVID-19 if spaces are crowded.

Woodvale has re-introduced mask wearing in the chapels due to the rise of the Omicron variant. It is also recommended that mourners and funeral directors factor in the need for social distancing between household bubbles when considering the number of people in attendance.

Those over the age of 70 and those with under underlying health condition are strongly discouraged from attending in line with UK Government guidance.

Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 (a new continuous cough, a high temperature or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell), should not attend a funeral unless an exemption applies.
