Apply to scatter, place or bury ashes

Use this form to apply to scatter, place or bury ashes in the Garden of Remembrance, Woodland Valley or on a grave.

Do not start this application until you have booked an appointment date with the Bereavement Services team. 

What you'll need to complete this form

When you fill out this application you'll need to provide:

  • a photo or scanned copy of the deceased cremation certificate, if the deceased was not cremated at Woodvale
  • a photo or scan copy of proof of identity for you, and any grave plot owners - this should be one of:
    • Drivers licence
    • Passport
    • UK Citizen ID card
  • the details of your plot location, if you or the deceased already own a grave plot

Payments

Once your application has been successful, you will be asked to pay the corresponding costs. We accept card details over the phone, cheques and cash.

You must also read and agree to the following before making your application:

  • I consent to the interment of the deceased person in either a specified grave plot or the scattering of the ashes
  • I agree that no form of memorial, other than that prescribed under the council’s cemetery regulations are allowed to be placed on a grave plot
  • I understand that all unauthorised items will be removed from the grave plot without prior notice
  • I confirm the information provided will not be false or misleading
