Withdean Park

Bordered to the north and east by woodland, Withdean Park is a large open space with good views of the South Downs. The park is popular with dog walkers and those with an interest in horticulture.

They have  work-days throughout the year and are always happy to welcome new members. Their next work days are:

The 5 and 5A buses run past the bottom of the park and the 5B runs to the top of the park during the day. Further information and timetables available from the Brighton & Hove Bus company

There are cycle lanes leading to the park from the city centre and various places to secure your bicycle to around the park. For more information on cycling around the city check the Journey On site.

There is limited free parking available on Woodland Way.

Withdean woodland walk

Surrounding the park to the North and East is an extensive woodland walk, perfect for those looking for shade on a sunny day.
The park also boasts a lily pond garden, a varied collection of trees and shrubs and one of the largest collections of lilacs in the world. The collection has inspired the park's popular annual fair 'The Lilac Lark'.
