You will not be able to view your Council Tax and Business Rates account information or bills online between 3pm on Thursday 28 March 2024 until 3pm on Tuesday 3 April 2024. We apologise for any inconvenience.
The entry stamp you received on entry into the UK provides evidence of your right to stay in the UK but is valid for the first 6 months only. To extend your stay for up to the 3 years allowed under the Homes for Ukraine scheme, you will need to apply for a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP).
A BRP is a card with your immigration status on it. You can use it to prove your right to study, work and claim any benefits you are eligible for. This will require you to provide biometric information, including a photograph of your face and a sample of your fingerprints.
Sponsoring a friend or a family member
Ukrainian nationals who were previously a guest of a host family
If you were living with a host family and now live on your own, you can sponsor a family member or friend to come to the UK to live in your home. The person you wish to sponsor will need to apply for a visa under the Homes for Ukraine Scheme.
To be eligible to be their sponsor you must:
be able to offer a spare room for at least 6 months
not have a criminal record
pass our internal data base and home safety checks
If you meet the eligibility criteria and pass all required checks, you will be eligible for a monthly £750 ‘thank you’ payment. We'll make the first payment after your friend or family member has lived with you for one month. We'll then continue to pay you monthly for the period your family member or friend lives with you.
Ukrainian nationals not previously a guest of a host family
If you weren't previously a guest of a host family, and live on your own, you can still host family members in your home.
The Ukraine Family Scheme allows your family members to join you, or extend their stay, in the UK.
You should consider whether you have enough space for your family members. Everyone should have a separate bedroom and enough shared space to live comfortably.
