- We are not able to provide crisis loans under any circumstances.
- Awards to people who are currently homeless are not eligible - please see the council’s page on homelessness for information about the support available.
Applying
Please provide sufficient information regarding your client's circumstances to support their application. The information needs to be a minimum of 200 words and include 2 quotes from suppliers listing VAT separately.
To help the trustees consider your client’s case, you may want to give details about your client's circumstances, like background information. You could explain why your client may need an award. It could also cover why they can't buy the items and how the award would help them if they got it.
Applications cannot be progressed without quotes, and not including them in your application could lead to a delay in it being considered.
The Brighton Fund makes awards at monthly meetings of the trustees.
Due to the high volume of applications, you may need to wait up to four months for us to let you know our decision.
Awards are in the form of BACS payments to the supplier or as transfers to departmental budgets within the council. The fund is an independent charity accountable to the Charity Commission (Registered Charity number - 1011724)
