What you need to do

If your child's main home address changes while you're applying for a school place, send an email to the School Admissions Team to let us know.

Contact the School Admissions Team about the allocation of school places for Brighton & Hove local authority schools.

The main address is usually where your child is registered with a doctor.

We will need to see proof of your new address before a school place is offered based on your new address.

Make sure to let the school admissions know you've moved house, even if you've already applied for a school place.

If you move home at any other time and it's harder for your child to make the journey to school, you can apply for a school place at a new school.

Do not apply before you move

Your application will be looked at and a new school place allocated as soon as it is received.

So, only apply when your move is confirmed.

We'll aim to give you a decision as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 15 school days to receive your school offer.
