We've aware of a national scam where people are asked to pay parking fines via text. We'll never text you to request a payment for a parking fine. We'll only contact you about parking fines via letter, or email if you have already provided it to us. If you have any doubts, contact the Parking Team.

About specialist short breaks
Specialist short breaks are highly specialised or bespoke services for children and young people who have:
- severe and enduring cognitive delay and learning disability
- low functional abilities
- physical disabilities
They are designed to meet the needs of individual children and young people and their carers, following a social care assessment.
Ratios for this group include: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 or 1:5. These services suit children and young people who need a higher level of specialist care.
Children and young people in Brighton & Hove are eligible for specialist short breaks if:
- they have a moderate to severe learning disability and/or a severe physical disability
- their needs can only be met through the input of specialist services
Disability is defined in section 17 (11) of the Children Act 1989.
