Oaks Rise is a neurodivergent-led learning centre, combining academic opportunity with a safe, nurturing and neuro-affirming approach designed to build confidence, self-esteem, and re-engagement with learning.
They offer part time, supplementary academic tuition, wellbeing and social communication support for academically able autistic and ADHD learners who are struggling to access mainstream education due to cognitive, sensory, social, and emotional differences.
By offering a maximum of 9 hours of small-group provision, per pupil, per week, they bridge the gap between full-time schooling and one-to-one home-based tuition (or no education at all). As such, they enable learners to maintain, and improve, their academic and social engagement and well-being.
There is project-based, interest-led learning which tends to align with the natural learning style of neurodivergent CYP and Core Subject Focus. Maths, English, and Science National Curriculum are integrated into the learners’ projects and into collaboration activities, so that they are not at a disadvantage when they reintegrate back into full time education, and/or should they choose to take GCSEs in future.
They also offer neuro-affirming well-being support which aims to re-build the confidence and self-esteem of learners, helping them understand their strengths and challenges through a neuro-affirming, strengths-based lens.
