How to appeal if you’re not happy with the school place your child has been offered
Appeal online
You can appeal online if your child wasn't offered a place at a school you listed as your first, second or third preference in the application form.
Appeal deadlines
Infant or primary (reception) or junior (year 3)
Deadline to appeal: 15 May 2026.
Appeal hearings start: July 2026.
Start school in: September 2026.
Secondary (year 7)
Deadline to appeal: 27 March 2026.
Appeal hearings start: April to May 2026.
Start school in: September 2026.
The appeal will take place within 40 school days. Appeals don't take place during school holidays.
