Rubbish and recycling collections and street cleaning during extreme hot weather

Rubbish collection crews are starting their collections a little earlier on Monday 18, Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 July due to the amber extreme heat warning.

Due to the Amber extreme heat warning in place over the next few days, our recycling and rubbish collection crews are starting collections a little earlier on Monday 18, Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 July to get more work done in cooler temperatures.

If you’re due a recycling or rubbish collection on any of these days, please make sure your bin is at its collection point by 5am on the day of your collection.

Our street cleaning crews will also be taking more breaks for shade and water over the next few days.

We’re expecting high numbers of visitors to the beach which leads to more waste and can make it more difficult to empty bins.

There are a lot of the bins on the seafront so if the nearest bin is full, please find an empty one or take your rubbish home.

Thanks for your patience.
