Fees for new, replacement and additional bins and boxes

From 15 June 2026, we will be charging a fee for new, replacement and additional rubbish and recycling bins and boxes. This is due to rising costs and reduced funding.

The charge is a contribution towards supply, delivery and administration, and encourages residents to take responsibility for their bins.

We no longer provide black boxes for mixed recycling (paper, card, plastic bottles, tubs and trays). If you currently use a box for mixed recycling, you can request a recycling wheelie bin.  

We will continue to collect glass in boxes, and food waste caddies remain free of charge.

Order a new, replacement, or different‑sized wheelie bin, black box for glass recycling, or food caddy

We have introduced a fee for bins and boxes. It helps cover part of the cost of supplying the container, delivering it to your property and managing the service.

Food waste caddies remain free of charge.

Due to the high volume of requests, we aim to deliver your wheelie bin, black box or caddy within 20 working days.

Black boxes are now only available for glass recycling. If you need a new/ replacement container for any other recycling, you’ll need to get a wheelie bin.

How to use this form

You can use this form to:

  • get a new wheelie bin, or a black box for separate glass recycling
  • get a replacement wheelie bin or glass box if yours is damaged or has gone missing
  • request a different sized wheelie bin
  • order new or replacement food caddies
