Role of City Plan Part 2

The role of the City Plan Part 2 is to support the implementation and delivery of City Plan Part 1 to: 

  • build on the strategic policy framework
  • identify and allocate additional development sites
  • set out a detailed policy framework to assist in the determination of planning applications

The policies in City Plan Part 2 will replace the remaining ‘saved’ policies from the 2005 Local Plan.

Current stage in City Plan Part 2 preparation

The council has formally submitted the City Plan Part 2, together with the supporting documents, to the Secretary of State for examination.

Main Modification Consultation subject to approval at 10 March TECC Committee  Anticipated 17 March to 5 May 2022
Adoption Autumn 2022
