Neighbourhood planning step by step guide
Step 7: Submission Consultation (Regulation 16)
The city council will publicise the neighbourhood plan and supporting information for at least six weeks.
The forum will be asked to contact those who commented at the regulation 14 stage with details of the Regulation 16 consultation to conform with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regulations. The city council will publicise the consultation via email to specific, general and all other consultees on their contact database. We will also make documents available on the city council website and provide hard copies for viewing in other locations as considered appropriate such libraries local to the neighbourhood area.
The city council will also display publicity notices within the neighbourhood area and arrange for social media posts and a press release. Consultation representations made during the 6-week consultation period will be collated.
The city council will also provide its own consultation response which will be agreed by the relevant council committee. At the same time, we will seek councillor agreement to appoint an independent examiner. The council will then appoint a person to carry out the independent examination (in agreement with the forum).
