Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

Information about the planned introduction from 5 October 2020.

Community Infrastructure Levy

The new start date for Brighton & Hove City Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) on planning permissions has been set for 5 October 2020.

The Tourism, Equalities, Communities and Culture Committee (TECC) voted on 7 May to accept the inspector’s report on the proposed CIL charging schedule. The scheme and requisite constitutional amendments will be submitted for final approval by the full council on 23 July. Meanwhile, we are continuing with our preparations to implement CIL.

From Monday 6 July 2020, we will only validate applications which include a properly completed Additional Information Form 1. All relevant applications (full planning, householder, reserved matters or lawful development certificates) submitted without a fully complete and correct form, will be held invalid until the information is submitted.

If you need help completing the form, email CIL@brighton-hove.gov.uk and we will help you make sure it's correct before you submit it.
