The council's conservation strategy was adopted in 2015 following a review of the previous strategy approved in 2003. The aim is to positively manage change within the city’s historic environment in order to conserve the city’s many and varied heritage assets and to meet the council’s responsibilities under the National Planning Policy Framework.
This strategy is a 10 year document that will guide ongoing and future work programmes, highlight key objectives and targets, prioritise action and help to ensure that available resources are directed to best effect.
