Direction
(a) That an Article 4 Direction under the General Development Order 1977 be made upon the premises known as numbers 1 to 48 Park Crescent, removing from the category of permitted development any painting or works of external redecoration to the external elevations of these premises which are or would be visible from Park Crescent Terrace, Union Road and the Crescent Gardens. Also any works to change the roof materials.
(b) That the colour scheme as follows be approved:
- the following surfaces must be pale grey (British Standard Colour Code BS 10 A 3) with a gloss or smooth masonry paint finish:
- all external wall surfaces including pediments and pipework where on pale grey background
- walls and pillars to boundaries, canopies and posts thereto
- the following surfaces must be dark grey (British Standard Colour Code BS 18 B 25) with a gloss or smooth masonry paint finish:
- dormers and other additions above eaves level excluding pediment and pipework where on dark grey background
- chimney stacks
- the following surfaces must be white with a gloss finish:
- window and door surrounds
- window frames and sashes and pipework background
- eaves brackets
- medallions and quoins
- all architectural metal work, such as gates, and railings (but excluding posts to canopies) must be black with a gloss finish
- the colour of front and rear doors is optional, but they must have a gloss finish
Where the recommended colour scheme is not used the Council will seek to require the property to be repainted in the correct colours.
