Direction
(a) That an Article 4 Direction under the General Development Order 1977 be made on numbers 1 to 24 and North and South Lodges, Hanover Crescent, Brighton, removing from the category of permitted development any painting works of external redecoration to the external elevations which are or would be visible from the Crescent.
(b) That the colour scheme as follows be approved:
- the following surfaces must be pale grey/cream (British Standard Colour Code BS 10 B 17) with a flat finish:
- all external wall surfaces
- pipework, guttering and downpipes
- all rendering and boundary walls
- all woodwork, window frames, sashes, glazing bars, door frames must be white with a gloss finish
- all architectural ironwork, such as gates, railings and balconies (but excluding posts to canopies) must be black with a gloss finish
- dormers, dormer windows and other additions above eaves level excluding pediments, must be dark grey (British Standard Colour Code BS 18 B 25) with a gloss or smooth masonry paint finish
- the colour of front and basement doors is optional, but they must have a gloss finish
Where the recommended colour scheme is not used the Council will seek to require the property to be repainted in the correct colours.
