Direction
(a) That an Article 4 Direction under the General Development Order 1977, be made on numbers 1 to 34 Clifton Terrace removing from the category of permitted development any painting or works of external redecoration to the front elevations and any visible side elevations of these properties.
(b) That the colour scheme as follows be approved:
- the following surfaces must be white (British Standard Colour Code BS 00 E 55) with a gloss or smooth masonry paint finish:
- all external wall surfaces
- pipework, guttering and downpipes
- all rendering and garden walls
- all woodwork, window frames, sashes, glazing bars, door frames
- all architectural ironwork, such as gates, railings, balconies and posts to canopies must be black with a gloss finish
- dormers and other additions above parapet level must be dark grey (British Standard Colour Code BS 18 B 25) with a gloss or smooth masonry paint finish
- dormer windows and fascias must be white with a gloss or smooth gloss finish
- the colour of front and basement doors is optional, but they must have a gloss finish
Please note that in line with the proposed EEC Directives, the use of lead based paint will no longer be eligible for grant assistance.
Where the recommended colour scheme is not used the Council will seek to require the property to be repainted in the correct colours.
