Processing times for planning applications are longer than usual. We have reduced the backlog from 200 to 45 applications over the last few weeks. (a) That an Article 4 Direction under the General Development Order 1977, be made on numbers 1 to 20 Clarence Square, removing from the category of permitted development any painting works of external decoration to:
- the exterior east facing elevations of numbers 11 and 15 to 20 Clarence Square
- the exterior north facing elevations of numbers 1,7 to 10, 11 to 14 and 20 Clarence Square
- the exterior west facing elevations of 1 to 6 and 10 Clarence Square
(b) That the colour scheme as follows be approved:
- all external walls, canopies and mouldings must be magnolia (BS 08 B 15) with a gloss or smooth masonry paint finish
- all woodwork must be white with a gloss finish
- all architectural ironwork, gates and railings must be black with a gloss finish
- the colour of front and basement doors is optional, but they must have a gloss finish
Please note that in line with the proposed EEC Directives, the use of lead based paint will no longer be eligible for grant assistance.
Where the recommended colour scheme is not used the Council will seek to require the property to be repainted in the correct colours.
