Planning Sustainability Checklist
All residential planning applications involving new builds and conversions within the city require a completed Brighton & Hove sustainability checklist.
We require a completed sustainability checklist to register your planning application.
The online sustainability checklist tool will create a PDF document for you once you complete the checklist. Attach this document to your planning application when you submit it to the planning portal. If you are submitting a non-electronic application, you must include one printed copy of the PDF document of your completed checklist.
Use this form to fill out your development planning sustainability checklist.
To complete the checklist, you need to provide:
- development details including:
- the development address
- the type and size of the project
- residential/non-residential status
- whether the development increases or decreases open space in the area
- parking
- any sustainability considerations such as:
- predicted energy efficiency
- building fabric details
- building materials
- any green walls or roofs
- water efficiency
- effects on biodiversity
- any safety considerations such as:
- flood risk
- accessibility
If you need help, you can:
