Report a vehicle parked dangerously or causing an obstruction

If you see a vehicle parked where you think it should not be, you can report it to us.

Report a vehicle online

If the problem does not need a response within one hour, contact parking services to report an illegally parked vehicle online.

You'll need to:

• provide your contact details
• select the option “Request Parking Enforcement”
• complete as many fields on the form as possible – you can also upload photos

What we'll need to know

You'll need the:

• vehicle registration
• name of the street that the vehicle is parked in
• number of the property where the vehicle is parked outside of
• type of bay that the vehicle is parked in

Report a vehicle by phone

In the event of an emergency that requires immediate attention, phone 03456 035 469 and select option 1. This is an answering service, so please leave a message.

We'll assess and prioritise all incoming requests based on their urgency.

We will:  

• respond to critical requests within one hour between 9am and 8pm
• respond to non-urgent requests within 2 hours
• address all other requests during our routine patrols and investigate them as soon as possible (response times for these may exceed the timeframes outlined above)

What will happen after reporting a vehicle

Once categorised, a Civil Enforcement Officer (CEO) will go and assess the situation. If a vehicle is parked where it should not be, the CEO may issue a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

Some vehicles are exempt from parking restrictions or have permission to park in certain bays. These vehicles will usually have either a permit, badge or ticket on display.

Please be aware that we issue some permits digitally, so a paper permit may not be on display, but a vehicle could still be legally parked.

We've introduced Pay by Phone parking to controlled parking zones across the city. People who have paid to park using their phone will not display a ticket on their vehicle, but will still be legally parked.
