We're aware of a national scam where people are asked to pay parking fines via text. We'll never text you to request a payment for a parking fine. We'll only contact you about parking fines via letter or email. If you have any doubts, contact the Parking Team.

Types of parking scheme
Light touch
A light touch scheme operates across all bays including permit, shared use, and paid parking.
They have blocks of controlled hours, for example, Monday to Friday 9am to 10am, or 2pm to 3pm.
You do not need a permit to park in these zones outside controlled hours. Permits for these zones cost less than permits for full scheme zones.

Types of emissions
Low emission
Low emission is defined as a vehicle (not a diesel vehicle) that produces 110g/km or less CO2 emissions.
Vehicles registered before March 2001 do not show CO2 emissions and therefore do not qualify for a discount.
Normal emission
Normal emission is defined as a petrol vehicle producing between 111g/km - 165g/km CO2 emissions or a diesel vehicle producing up to 165g/km CO2 emissions.
High emission
High emission is defined as any vehicle that produces 166g/km or more CO2 emissions.
