In the 2023 to 2024 financial year the CCTV Enforcement team went through an unprecedented period of change in terms of the equipment used to capture and issue Penalty Charge Notice (PCN’s) via CCTV on the Public Highway.
A review, upgrade and change in ownership of the CCTV network has resulted in investment in a system that is fit for purpose.
In February 2024, a new CCTV enforcement contractor installed new equipment, this resulted in a slight drop in PCNs in February and March whilst the cameras were being installed, and the old units were removed.
Once most of the cameras were installed there was an increase in the number of PCN’s issued, this was due to the improved quality of the cameras and the ease of use of the new reviewing system.
