How much your parking or bus lane fine will cost

The cost of your fine depends on how serious the rule you've broken is.

The rules are called contraventions and are set by the Department for Transport. The PATROL website explains what each contravention code means and if it's higher or lower. 

Parking, bus lane and bus gate fines

Higher contravention costs 

£70 or £35 if you pay within 14 days.

Lower contravention costs 

£50 or £25 if you pay within 14 days.

Bus lane or bus gate fine costs  

£70 or £35 if you pay within 14 days.
