The Brighton & Hove Local Access Forum (BHLAF) is a statutory body whose purpose is to give advice to the council, the national park authority and Natural England on managing and improving access to open spaces in and around Brighton & Hove. Although the forum has no executive powers the appointing authority and Natural England must listen to their advice.
Members of the forum represent interests including land management, walking, horse riding, cycling, people with disabilities, youth, health, tourism, landscape and conservation.

Meetings normally take place at 6pm at the Hollingdean Depot, Upper Hollingdean Road, BN1 7GA. Until further notice, meetings are being held on Zoom.
Purpose of the forum
The main purpose of the forum is to give advice on the improvement of public access in the area. Some of the issues that may be addressed include:
- management of land with access
- rights of way improvement
- recreation and transport
- local restrictions
- proposals for bylaws on access land
The forum must consider:
- the needs of land management
- conserving natural beauty
- protection of flora and fauna, and geographical features
- guidance given by the Secretary of State
