We all argue sometimes. Being a separated parent can bring extra challenges, these can sometimes lead to arguments which affect children.

Separated parent relationship courses
The following courses are available for separated parents who want to improve how they interact and co-parent their children.

Triple P Family Transitions
This 5 week course is run by the Parenting Team. It is for parents in the process of separating, or parents who have separated but are struggling to work together in parenting their children.
Parents will attend separate courses learning how to:
- manage difficult emotions linked to the separation
- help their children manage and express thoughts and feelings
- understand conflict and develop assertive communication skills
- solve relationship problems and develop Parenting Plans
The course has the option to continue on into a 7 week parenting skills course. Completing this full 12 week course is proven to be most effective in improving relationships.

Getting it Right for Children
A short online course for separated parents who struggle with communication and co-parenting.
The course uses videos to show how making one or two small changes can improve how we communicate and how this benefits our children.

Separated Parents Information Programme (SPIP)
A course for parents in the process of separating who are in dispute with their child’s other parent. It helps parents focus on putting their children first throughout the legal process, but is also suitable for parents not going through court.
Parents learn how conflict affects their children’s emotions and behaviour and the fundamental principles of how to manage conflict and difficulties.
The course lasts 4.5 hours and costs is £110 per person for both the face-to-face and online groups. Reductions are available for those on a low income.
