Parent relationships
Support for parents who are separated
Managing conflict
We all argue sometimes. Being a separated parent can bring extra challenges, these can sometimes lead to arguments which affect children.
This video shows a different way of doing things to make life easier for everyone.
This 5 week course is run by the Parenting Team. It is for parents in the process of separating, or parents who have separated but are struggling to work together in parenting their children.
Parents will attend separate courses learning how to:
manage difficult emotions linked to the separation
help their children manage and express thoughts and feelings
understand conflict and develop assertive communication skills
solve relationship problems and develop Parenting Plans
The course has the option to continue on into a 7 week parenting skills course. Completing this full 12 week course is proven to be most effective in improving relationships.
Please note: You will need to be referred by a professional to attend this course.
** Please note: This course is run by an external organisation. Brighton & Hove City Council does not endorse or quality control external courses.
