'Rocket' is a unique and imaginative installation of brass and steel that was created by Brighton based designers Kevin Freeman and Lisa Ducie. 'Rocket' displays the Victorian values of beauty, the development of technology and exploring. It represents discovery whilst also providing a link to the past.
'Rocket' is placed in the entrance foyer to the Pavilion Surgery, located inside the modernist glass and steel development of the Glass Pavilion. The Pavilion Surgery, located to the front of the building, has been a surgery in the Old Steine since the turn of the last century and has recently moved into these premises. 'Rocket' is clearly visible, positioned on a triangular plinth in the Pavilion Surgery lobby, its combination of modern and traditional materials reflect the different architecture of the nearby buildings.
