Loud music costs Brighton man £800 – and his equipment
A Brighton man is more than £800 worse off and has had his music making equipment seized following a noise nuisance prosecution by Brighton & Hove City Council.
Gareth Halsall, of Glynleigh, Ashton Rise, Brighton, was ordered to pay a fine, costs and victim surcharge totalling £807 by Brighton Magistrates today (May 30).
Mr Halsall pleaded guilty to causing recurring noise nuisance with loud music, singing and shouting despite a series of warning letters and visits from the council’s environmental health team.
Mr Halsall’s music making equipment was seized in April in a joint operation by environmental health and the police.
