What a carer is
A carer is anyone who provides unpaid support to a family member, child, partner or friend who couldn’t manage daily activities without their help.
There are support services and discounts available to all carers and extra support for carers under 25.
Support for all carers
Caring for someone else can be difficult but there is support available.
The Carers Hub offers a range of services for carers that look after someone in Brighton & Hove. You can request a carers assessment on the Carers Hub too.

Extra support for carers under 25
It's important that young carers and young adult carers are supported so their needs and wishes are considered and they don't miss out.
A young carer is a child or young person up to the age of 18.
A young adult carer is someone aged between 16 and 25.
Both can access the support listed below.
How to get support for a carer
If you identify a carer that needs support, you can make a referral for them to get help.
