New chair for Biosphere Delivery Board

The new chair of The Living Coast, Brighton & Lewes Downs UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve Delivery Board is Managing Director of Brighton & Hove Bus Company, Martin Harris. Martin takes over the role from Ben Earl, from Southern Water who has chaired the board since 2016.

In the print edition of today’s The Argus newspaper, the front page story featured a photo of council leader, Councillor Nancy Platts, with the quote “We can’t cope”. Councillor Platts did not say this, it was made up by The Argus.

Large panel system building survey results

We carried out structural surveys on our eight ‘large panel system’ tower blocks to update our records earlier this summer. The surveys found the buildings to be in generally good condition with no structural issues.

Pitch Perfect!

A new 3G all weather pitch has opened at Portslade Sports Centre, providing a base for 28 youth football teams. The pitch has been funded by the Premier League, the FA and government's Football Foundation, and Brighton & Hove City Council.
