A fascinating new oral history project has been launched in Stanmer Park, capturing 40 different stories and memories from local people including gardeners and those who lived and worked in the village.

Funding boost for Regency Town House

The Regency Town House in Brunswick Square has been awarded a Respond & Reimagine grant from Art Fund. The Grade 1 listed house is currently being restored to become a heritage centre and museum.

Most of the city’s libraries reopen again from Wednesday 2 December with Covid safety measures in place. We’ll also be extending our popular ‘Order & Collect’ service to community libraries from 7 December.

New play facilities at Stanmer Park

Celebrations as new playground opens in Stanmer Park

Children of all ages and abilities are enjoying the new play area in in Stanmer Park. The new playground also includes equipment for less able youngsters including a toddler and basket swing and accessible roundabout.

New cafe opens in Saunders Park

A new cafe has opened in Saunders Park. Run by Max Calesini, Laz' in the Park has an outside seating area and serves coffee, snacks, ice cream and home-made food, including vegan and gluten free options.

Return of staffed opening times in community libraries

We’ll be reintroducing staffed services in most of the city’s community libraries over the next few weeks with reduced opening hours and measures in place to keep staff and visitors safe.
