We want everyone to stay safe on our seafront this New Year. Residents and visitors are being urged protect their family and friends by following the sea safety and Covid rules.

Funding boost for Regency Town House

The Regency Town House in Brunswick Square has been awarded a Respond & Reimagine grant from Art Fund. The Grade 1 listed house is currently being restored to become a heritage centre and museum.

Most of the city’s libraries reopen again from Wednesday 2 December with Covid safety measures in place. We’ll also be extending our popular ‘Order & Collect’ service to community libraries from 7 December.

Stewarding the seafront this weekend

We’re again asking people to limit travel to the city and the seafront this weekend. Stewards will be in place between 11am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday to monitor the central beach area.

Beach by-laws relaxed for dog walkers

The council's seafront team has relaxed the beach dog walking by-laws which normally come into force on 1 May, to enable residents to walk their dogs safely while following the social distancing guidelines.
