Council pledges to embed support for youth social action into its culture and practice.

Brighton & Hove’s lead councillors for children and young people have challenged government about its lack of consideration for early years providers in the midst of the global pandemic.

Applications for the city’s primary, infant and junior schools for this September must be submitted by the end of Friday 15 January.

National project aims to give more children and young people the chance to influence decisions about services and issues that affect them.

From 7 January 2021, all council-run nurseries will be closed to all but vulnerable children and children of critical workers.

The council has advised primary schools to move to remote learning for the majority of pupils until 18 January. Early years settings, including nurseries and childminders, can stay open. Please check your child’s primary school and/or early years setting for more information.

Because of concerns around safety, our current advice to schools and council nurseries is that they should not open more widely for pupils on 1 June.

Schools and early years childcare providers are open for children of key workers and vulnerable children over the half term ahead.
