Brighton & Hove's discretionary grant fund for small businesses is coming soon. Councillors agreed the proposals at the Policy & Resources (Recovery) Sub-Committee on 29 May.

Judges from the Sussex Heritage Trust said the design, which includes exterior rubber cladding on the new ticket hall and cafe, was an unusual and clever use of materials and the buildings had enhanced the eastern end of Brighton seafront.

R Durtnell & Sons Ltd, the contractor working on the major refurbishment of Brighton Dome Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre, has ceased work on site. The council is working with Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival to explore practical options for continuing and completing the restoration works.
