Whether you’re cheering the parade, having fun at Pride on the Park, dancing at the street party or celebrating with friends elsewhere, please do your bit to keep the city clean and tidy.
With many thousands of residents and visitors out and about in the city over what’s looking like a warm weekend, we work closely with Pride to keep the city looking it’s best throughout.
Pride organisers co-ordinate the clean-up of Preston Park, Marine Parade and the parade route, with the council responsible for the rest of the city.
We will once again be helped by hundreds of volunteers who have signed up to help at beach cleaning sessions on Sunday morning.
Our Environmental Services team will be in action throughout the Pride weekend, with extra staff and mechanical sweepers in place providing a 24-hour cleaning and rapid response operation over Saturday and Sunday.
Alongside the additional large litter bins being provided by the Pride, we will be putting out an extra 85 street litter bins around the city centre.
Following the weekend, we will be carrying out an intensive street washing programme, focusing on the areas around London Road and the Pride Street Party.
Councillor Tim Rowkins, Cabinet Member for Net Zero and Environmental Services, said: “Our Environmental Services team does an amazing job every year of making sure the city looks its best throughout the Pride weekend.
“The role they play in helping everyone enjoy Pride has a huge impact on the success of the weekend.
“The clean-up is a real team effort and we work very closely with Pride on preparing for the weekend. I also want to say a huge thank-you to the hundreds of people who have volunteered for the beach clean.
“We want everyone to enjoy themselves, have a brilliant weekend and come together to celebrate our LGBTQ+ communities.
“But we do ask people to give us a helping hand by using the bins provided or taking their rubbish home with them, and to use the correct bins for all your recycling.”

Pride is back for 2026, with another fantastic weekend of celebrations expected across Brighton & Hove on Saturday 1 August and Sunday 2 August.
