Inaugural Brighton & Hove Citywide Skills Celebration will showcase local learners
We will be hosting an event recognising the achievements of adult learners and apprentices in Brighton & Hove in partnership with the Sussex Council of Training Providers in March.
The event, taking place at Jubilee Library, will celebrate learners from a range of programmes including apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps and Adult and Community Learning.
The evening will feature award presentations for exceptional achievement, special guest speakers, live music and inspirational stories.
Award categories include:
- Adult & Community Learning Learner of the Year
- Apprenticeship Learner of the Year
- Skills Bootcamp Learner of the Year
- Training Provider of the Year
- Employer of the Year
Councillor Emma Daniel, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Youth Services, said: “We’re looking forward to celebrating all of the fantastic achievements of Brighton & Hove’s adult learners and apprentices next month at Jubilee Library.
“There are a variety of training programmes and learning pathways available to adults in the city, giving residents the opportunity to develop skills relevant for a wide range of sectors, careers and roles.
“We’ve invited award nominations from training providers and local learners, and award nominees have been invited to join us to celebrate the impact of education, learning and skills across Brighton & Hove.
“This event reflects our commitment to ensuring residents can access support to find and stay in meaningful work. The government’s Connect to Work programme is helping progress this by funding personalised support to people facing complex barriers to employment in the city.”
