Urging young residents and students to help shape the future of the city
We are currently running a consultation to hear the views of residents of all ages to help shape future development in the city. As part of that, it’s really important we hear the opinions of younger residents and students.
The City Plan 2041 consultation closes on 20 January. It is asking for opinions on a wide range of issues, including:
- What do you think is missing in Brighton & Hove that would make it a better city for young people?
- Do you think the city’s transport options are convenient for young people?
- What ideas do you have to make Brighton & Hove safer for everyone?
Council deputy leader Jacob Taylor said: “When it comes to the future of our city, it’s crucial we hear from younger people about what they want to see.
“Planning consultations often mainly attract feedback from adult residents, but the City Plan is looking at how the city should develop in the next 15 to 20 years, so we need the feedback to reflect the opinions of everyone in the city, including younger residents and students studying here.
“We want as many people as possible of all ages to have their say in shaping a city to be proud of for generations to come.”
This is the first stage in creating a new City Plan for Brighton & Hove. You can read more or watch a video about the challenges we face and give your views online through the council’s Your Voice website.
