We’re supporting this year’s Men’s Health Week running from 10 to 14 June.
Led by the Men’s Health Forum, the week is designed to give all boys and men access to the information and services they need to live healthier, more fulfilling lives. The focus this year is on mental health and wellbeing.
There are lots of things we can do to manage our support mental health, a good way to find something that might work for you is the CAN DO Challenge, based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

Connect
Connecting with others can help us feel close to people, and valued for who we are. Reach out in the way that works for you – this might be using digital technology, writing a letter, speaking on the phone.
If you feel comfortable, you could try speaking to someone new. If you want to make new connections, why not start a new activity such as Brighton & Hove Albion football sessions Visit their website to find out more.
Take notice
An excellent way to support your wellbeing is to take notice of what’s around you, look away from your phone and spend time in nature like our parks and by the sea!
Did you know that there are free guided Healthwalks taking place across the city for people of all ages and abilities? Visit our Healthwalks webpages to find out more.
Be active
A simple action such as a brisk walk, a bike ride or taking an exercise class can be a powerful tool for dealing with your mental health.
How can you fit physical activity into your day? Have a look at our information on free and low-cost activities in the city.
Discover
Learning new skills can boost confidence and give us a sense of achievement.
