Sign up for leader’s Woodingdean surgery
Councillor Bella Sankey, Leader of Brighton & Hove City Council, is holding her next leader’s surgery in the Woodingdean ward.
The surgery is taking place at 3pm on Friday 12 April at The Parish Church of the Holy Cross, Downsway, Brighton, BN2 6BD.
The event is next in series of successful surgeries, organised to give residents an opportunity to meet the Council Leader and share their ideas, raise concerns or pose questions directly.
Surgeries have already been held in Regency ward, Queen’s Park ward and Hangleton & Knoll ward.
Appointment slots for the surgery are open now and can be booked in advance using the details outlined below.
A better Brighton & Hove for all
Councillors agreed a new vision for a 'better Brighton & Hove for all' last summer in the Council Plan for 2023 to 2027. The plan was approved at the Full Council meeting on Thursday 20 July.
The plan outlines 4 key outcomes:
- A city to be proud of
- A fair and inclusive city
- A heathy city where people thrive
- A responsive council with well-run services
The leader’s surgeries are supporting support outcome 4 by listening to the needs of residents and communities and responding to their feedback.
Delivering meaningful change
Council Leader Bella Sankey said: “Being able to meet residents in their home wards and getting the opportunity to listen to their ideas, concerns and opinions has been invaluable to me and my team.
“Following up on meetings with our residents has allowed us to deliver meaningful change, such as ensuring that children not educated in school who are entitled to free school meals receive equivalent through meal vouchers.
“I am grateful to all residents who took the time to attend my surgeries and who continue investing their energy and care into making our city a better place to live.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the members of the Woodingdean community at my next surgery.”
