Making sure all voices are heard
Councillor Sankey said: “Being able to listen to the needs and concerns of our residents through an in-person surgery helps us build stronger connections with our communities and understand their specific needs and priorities.
“We want to make sure that every resident who wants to speak out on an issue that concerns them, or their ward has the opportunity to do so and feels heard.
“Following up on meetings with our residents has allowed us to deliver meaningful policy change already, such as ensuring that children not educated in school who are entitled to free school meals receive equivalent through meal vouchers.
“I am grateful to everyone who has taken the time to attend my surgeries and I’m looking forward to being back on my home turf in Wish ward next Leader’s surgery later this month.”
