Candidates confirmed for general election and Brunswick & Adelaide by-election
A general election will take place in the UK on Thursday 4 July.
At the general election you have one vote to choose a candidate to represent your constituency in the House of Commons.
The candidates for the three constituencies in Brighton & Hove have now been confirmed:
A by-election will also take place in Brunswick & Adelaide to elect a new ward councillor following the resignation of Jilly Stevens. Only residents living in the Brunswick & Adelaide ward are eligible to vote in this by-election.
The candidates standing for the Brunswick & Adelaide by-election have also been confirmed.
Key dates and deadlines
- Tuesday 18 June (midnight): Last day to register to vote
- Wednesday 19 June (5pm): Last day for us to receive your postal vote application
- Wednesday 26 June (5pm): Last day for us to receive your proxy vote application
- Wednesday 26 June (5pm): Last day to apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate
- Thursday 4 July (7am to 10pm): Polling day
