Welcoming residents at seniors housing scheme
We’ve added another seniors housing scheme to our range across the city.
Charles Kingston Gardens, a block of 18 flats in Patcham, was transferred from Clarion Housing Association to the council this month.
It means we now have 24 schemes in our seniors housing service, providing independent living for people aged 55 and over.
Residents at Charles Kingston Gardens were consulted about the change and, following positive feedback, they have now become council tenants.
Charles Kingston Gardens is next door to one of our existing seniors housing schemes, Elwyn Jones Court, and residents will benefit from the facilities and community activities being offered there too.
One of the first joint social events for residents at both schemes will be a party to celebrate the Coronation.
Peter Huntbach, Seniors Housing Manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome residents at Charles Kingston Gardens to our seniors housing service.”
Approval to go ahead with the transfer of Charles Kingston Gardens was agreed by the Housing Committee in November 2022.
Seniors Housing
Our seniors housing schemes provide independent living, with advice available from a scheme manager during the day and a 24-hour emergency alarm system to provide round the clock reassurance.
