Toads Hole Valley planning application updated

A new planning application has been submitted for the Toads Hole Valley proposed development in North Hove.

Toads Hole Valley is a privately owned 42- hectare site south of the A27, near King George VI Avenue. It was originally planned deliver up to 880 new homes, but in March 2023 permission was granted to replace a proposed school site that formed part of the plans with an extra 182 homes.

The new application, made by Toads Hole Valley Ltd, Pecla Investments Ltd and R.M. Simon, is a technical change. It does not ask for any amendments to the proposals in terms of the size or type of development. It only seeks to vary the wording of conditions attached to the original planning permission (ref BH2022/00203) to take account of the option of the additional housing permission approved in March (ref BH2022/02534).

The aim is to tie all the permissions on the Toads Hole Valley site together, to ensure the second outline permission (for the school site) is permissible within the terms of the original permission. The illustrative drawings submitted show part of the school site labelled as either land for a school or additional housing as permitted under BH2022/02534.
