Tickets are still available for this weekend’s Brighton & Hove Dance Active – but they are selling fast.
Dance Active brings together groups of all ages from all over the city to celebrate the joy of dance. Everyone is invited to attend on: Saturday 10 December, 5.30pm, Brighton Centre Syndicate Wing
More than 200 dancers will be showcasing a wide range of dance styles, such as lyrical hip hop, Street, Latin, Jazz and contemporary. Community groups that are performing include: Parable Dance, Young Dancers Collective, Marta Scott Dance Company, Streetfunk and many more.
The host for the evening is BBC Radio 5 Live Drive presenter Clare McDonnell.
Councillor Sue Shanks, Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board said:
“Being physically active is one of the most important things you can do for your health and dance is a great way to be both active and social.
“I watched the last Dance Active event and it was wonderful to see so many talented dancers get out there and show off their hard work. There was a fantastic atmosphere in the audience too.
“I look forward to seeing what they’ve achieved this time.”
Julie Stacey, Brighton & Hove City Council Active for Life Manager, said:
“Dancing has a really positive impact on your physical and mental wellbeing.
“Joining a dance session can help improve your balance and co-ordination, and help you move well and express yourself. It’s also great for all round wellbeing, for making new friends and being part of a community.
“Dance Active is a wonderful evening which brings together the dance community so they can showcase their talents and encourage more people to get involved.”
