There are a growing number of Brighton & Hove businesses and employees who embrace sustainability and are expanding their teams and skills. For the first time in the city, there will be a jobs fair that reflects these values.
We have come together with Brighton Chamber to organise and host the Green & Circular Economy Jobs Fair, which will take place on 29 November at the Brighthelm Centre from 10am-1pm.
Jobs and training opportunities
The Jobs Fair will showcase employers who have roles and training opportunities in sustainability and match them with talented job-seekers whose values align with theirs.
Employers offering green, sustainable, or circular roles will be on hand to meet like-minded job seekers.
If you’re a job seeker or are looking for a new career in the sector, visit the Chamber’s website to find out what’s on offer and why it will be valuable to come along.
Tackling the climate emergency together
Councillor Hannah Allbrooke, chair of the Children, Young People & Skills committee, says: “There has never been a more pressing time to dedicate our minds to sustainable practice whether that be in the economy, our social habits or our work lives.
“The climate emergency is one of our greatest challenges and action is needed across the board to tackle the issue.
“It is extremely encouraging to have organisations put the issue front and centre and offer people a way to make a difference through their jobs and places of work”.
“Collective steps can make a real difference and I’m thankful that we’re supporting this important event that has values integral to our progressive city”.
Working in the Green and circular economy sector
Sarah Springford, CEO at Brighton Chamber said “This is a fantastic opportunity for employers to meet and speak with passionate people who are interested in working in the green and circular economy sector. Whether candidates have existing skills and experience or are just starting out in their career, all job seekers interested in this sector are welcome.”
Along with connecting job-seekers with employers, the Jobs Fair will also offer advice and support to those just starting out in the sector.
There will also be an opportunity to do a short BLUEPRINT circular economy workshop: Do More, Waste Less: An Introduction to a Circular Economy.
