Tips to enjoy a Covid-safe half-term
I know many parents will be relieved to have a week off from home schooling this half-term.
If you are planning to get out and about with the family, make sure that you don’t bend the rules by taking any unnecessary risks with your health that puts further pressure on the NHS.
Stay local, play safe, stop Covid
Please don't forget that we're still in lockdown. Make sure you continue to follow current rules and avoid social gatherings or mixing with other households.
- Stay at home as much as possible – only go out for exercise, work, childcare, essential shopping or medical reasons
- Stay local, in your part of the city – try and avoid the crowded seafronts and busy parks and playgrounds. Instead, explore your local area and find somewhere quiet for your daily exercise
- Don’t meet up with other households – and if you’re talking in the playground, or to a neighbour on the street – wear a mask and keep your distance
- Remember hands, face, space.

Covid-support services for young people and parents
We know that the lockdown and Covid-19 restrictions are making life incredibly hard for children and young people in our city.
There are over 40 youth groups and organisations continuing to offering support in the area and these can be found on the council’s youth services directory.
There's also a helpline service for worried parents who are concerned about their child’s emotional mental health and wellbeing. To arrange a consultation please email swsconsultationline@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
