More walk-in vaccination sessions open this week, 14-18 July

This week the Brighton Centre is offering walk-in vaccinations up to 7 o'clock in the evening with no need to book ahead and all the walk-in vaccination clinics around the city are offering both first and second jabs. So it's easier than ever to get vaccinated.

With cases increasing in the city and regulations lifting next week, it's even more important that everyone gets vaccinated against Covid-19 as soon as possible.

If your schedule makes it harder to book in advance these walk-in sessions are ideal for you.

Who can attend and what you need

Everyone aged 18 and over who wants to get their first jab or is due their second vaccination.

If you want to go to a walk-in centre for your second vaccination, please check the above list to make sure the venue has the right vaccine for you. And please do not ask for your second jab if it has been less than eight weeks since your first appointment.

If you have them, please bring one form of ID (photo ID not required) and your NHS number.

Overseas visitors to England, including anyone living in the UK without permission, can also get the Covid-19 vaccine for free. You don’t need an NHS number but the team will need a way to contact you to arrange your second appointment (phone number or email).

Please wear something loose that gives easy access to your upper arm.

If you’ve already booked to have your vaccination somewhere else but would prefer to go to one of these sessions, please cancel your other appointment so that someone else can have your slot.

Help getting to your vaccination

Vaccine Buddies can accompany and reassure people in Brighton & Hove who are anxious about attending their vaccination appointment. The Buddy will call ahead of the appointment to introduce themselves and meet at the relevant vaccination centre – this includes Brighton Racecourse, the Brighton Centre, and mobile/walk-in Vaccination Units. To access the Together Co Vaccine Buddies service, please email socialprescribing.togetherco@nhs.net with the title Vaccine Buddies. You can also call on 01273 229 002 and leave a message.

If it will be difficult to travel to one of the vaccination sites, a free transport service for people who don’t have means to travel can be booked by calling on 0300 303 8060, Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

Getting both doses is vital to make sure you have the highest level of protection against the virus.
